Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate I, Process Development
Design and execute cell culture process development experiments, perform analytical testing, data analysis, interpret and present results.
Perform initial recovery & purification of harvest material, including filtration and chromatography.
Resolve moderately complex issues independently.
Handle multiple tasks with superb organizational skills.
Set-up and maintenance of process development laboratory equipment: e.g. bioreactors, analyzers, and chromatography control systems.
Generate documentation for experimental reports to support technology transfer and regulatory filings (development and technical report writing).
Present data and conclusions from experiments at department and inter-department meetings.
Train fellow employees on cell culture techniques.
Experience with cell culture processing platforms. Must be expert with shake flasks and stirred-tank bioreactors.
Ability to perform data analysis and interpret and present results in written and oral formats.
Must be proactive and able to design, plan, and perform experiments with limited supervision.
Viral vector production/processing experience (AAV or otherwise).
cGMP experience a plus.
Statistical design of experiments (DoE) experience.
Some molecular biology skills, qPCR and plate-based assay experience.
Downstream processing: harvest filtration and chromatography.
Bachelors Degree +4 yrs or Masters Degree +2 yrs in Chemical/Bioengineering Biochemistry, Biology, or other related scientific discipline.
