Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate I, Process Development

  • Design and execute cell culture process development experiments, perform analytical testing, data analysis, interpret and present results.
  • Perform initial recovery & purification of harvest material, including filtration and chromatography.
  • Resolve moderately complex issues independently.
  • Handle multiple tasks with superb organizational skills.
  • Set-up and maintenance of process development laboratory equipment: e.g. bioreactors, analyzers, and chromatography control systems.
  • Generate documentation for experimental reports to support technology transfer and regulatory filings (development and technical report writing).
  • Present data and conclusions from experiments at department and inter-department meetings.
  • Train fellow employees on cell culture techniques.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with cell culture processing platforms.  Must be expert with shake flasks and stirred-tank bioreactors.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and interpret and present results in written and oral formats.
  • Must be proactive and able to design, plan, and perform experiments with limited supervision.

Desired Skills:

  • Viral vector production/processing experience (AAV or otherwise).
  • cGMP experience a plus.
  • Statistical design of experiments (DoE) experience.
  • Some molecular biology skills, qPCR and plate-based assay experience.
  • Downstream processing: harvest filtration and chromatography.
  • Bachelors Degree +4 yrs or Masters Degree +2 yrs in Chemical/Bioengineering Biochemistry, Biology, or other related scientific discipline.
